Manchester (13-17) began a stretch of three consecutive off-days.
July 15, 2006
The Silkworms split a double header with the Steeple Cats in North Adams. Jacob Cook threw a seven-inning complete game with eight strikeouts and no walks in the first game.
Gil Zayas hit solo homers in both games. Aaron Garza was 3 for 4 with a stolen base. Justin Greene and Wilson Matos drove in the other two Manchester runs.
Manchester dropped to 13-15 in the nightcap in a 2-1 loss as with Zayas’ second homer of the afternoon accounting for the lone Worm run.
July 15, 2005
Manchester beat Torrington 5-4 on the road behind Chris Legiadre, who struck out five over 6 2/3 innings. Matt Reilly recorded the final two outs for his first save.
The offense was supplied by the Drew Garcia-Andy Parrino
tandem who accounted for seven of the eight Silkworm hits. Garcia was 3 for 4 with a pair of doubles while Parrino checked in with four singles in four trips with two runs scored and an RBI. Bryan Hagerich had the other Silkworm hit.

Scott Beattie hit the first homer by a Silkworm player at Northwest Park with three on in the sixth; giving the Silkworms a brief 4-3 lead in a game they would eventually lose to the Gulls. Newport scored a pair in the seventh and added an insurance run in the ninth.

The first year NECBL team was enjoying an off-day after winning two straight, but a franchise record 10-game losing streak loomed, which would leave them 11-29 with one game to play – which they won, 7-6 against Danbury in a game played at Eastern Connecticut.
