College 2008:  Went 1-0 with a 7.85 ERA in 18 appearances, including three starts.  Struck out 15 in 28.2 innings.  Had a 5.53 ERA in the second half of the season.  Earned win on 3/5 against UNC-Greensboro with shutout, hitless .2 inning stint.  Allowed no earned runs in two inning relief stint against High Point on 3/11. Started 4/16 vs. Winthrop and threw four innings, striking out three, walking just one and allowing 3 runs and 4 hits.  Allowed 1 run and 2 hits in a 4 inning no decision start against Coastal Carolina on 4/23.  Allowed 2 hits, 1 run and struck out 1 in two inning relief stint in 10-3 conference win over Boston College on 5/15.

 

High School:   Three year starter at 3B and shortstop for Newtown H.S.  Was selected to the Perfect Game Top Prospect team where he represented New England.  Hit above .350 all three years of his high school career.  Was all-conference as a sophomore; all-region as a junior.  Member of National Honor Society.  Hit .450 with 6 home runs, 29 RBI and a 1.18 ERA and four saves on the mound.  Struck out 92 in 84 innings.  Earned all-state honors from the Hartford Courant and Connecticut Post as a senior.  Represented Connecticut in Conn-Mass All Star game at Fenway Park; hit bases loaded double that cemented the win.
